  • Softball hits the road for three doubleheaders this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team will have a busy schedule over the next few days with three doubleheaders against South Atlantic Conference (SAC) institutions. The Bobcats will head to No. 8 Lincoln Memorial on Thursday before heading to Wingate on Saturday and UVa-Wise on Sunday. First pitch on all three days is set for 1 p.m.

    SALISBURY, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team opened its 2020 season Saturday with a pair of victories over Catawba by scores of 2-1 and 6-5. It marks the first time the Bobcats have started a season 2-0 since 2012.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After several postponements and cancellations, the Lees-McRae College softball team will make its long awaited season debut on Saturday when it visits Catawba for a non-conference doubleheader. The twin bill between the Bobcats and Indians is set for 3 p.m.
  • Softball kicks off 2020 season this weekend at Anderson and Mars Hill

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team will open its 2020 season this weekend with a pair of non-conference doubleheaders. First, the Bobcats will travel to Anderson for a pair of games on Saturday before heading to Mars Hill for two more contests on Sunday. Both twin bills are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
  • Softball picked fifth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll

    GREENEVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball team was selected fifth in the annual Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll the league office announced Thursday. Additionally, the trio of Faith Cooke, Julie Gast and Caitlyn Ray were picked as players to watch for the Bobcats this spring.
  • 157 Lees-McRae student-athletes earn spots on Presidential Honor Roll

    GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced that 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes earned spots on the Fall 2019 Presidential Honor Roll. Overall, there were 2,742 student-athletes in the conference to earn this honor.
  • 10 Lees-McRae softball players named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lees-McRae College softball team had 10 players recognized for their work in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year by being named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes late Wednesday afternoon. The 10 Bobcats recognized were: Noel Cassidy, Kara Cunningham, Cassidy Largen, Emily Merriam, Ashlyn Mills, Gabrielle Moyer, Mallory Myers, Sarah Beth Thomas, Christian Welch and Katelyn Wyatt.
  • Softball adds six newcomers for the 2020 season

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College softball program unveiled its recruiting class Thursday afternoon. Overall, the Bobcats added six new players that will help the program build upon the historic 2019 campaign where the team won its first conference championship and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance. The newest Bobcats are: Addyson Ikard (Maiden, N.C.), Charlsy Traylor (Pomaria, S.C.), Cassidy Coleman (Elon, N.C.), McKinley Johnson (Granite Falls, N.C.), Cora Detter (Hickory, N.C.) and Hannah Foster (Orange Park, Fla.).

  • Rachel Ross hired as Assistant Softball Coach

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Rachel Ross was named the new assistant coach for the Lees-McRae College softball program Friday morning. Ross comes to Lees-McRae after serving as the assistant coach for Greensboro College this past season.
