The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats traveled to Pfeiffer University Thursday evening, falling to the high flying Lady Falcons 98-68 in Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference action. The Lady Falcons improve to 20-4, (15-2 CVAC) while the Lady Bobcats fall to 8-15, (6-10 CVAC).
Pfeiffer dominated the game from the opening tip-off. Up by two, 9-7, the Lady Falcons went on a 16-0 run to grab a 25-7 lead with 10:15 to go. The Lady Falcons maintained a 14-17 point cushion for the rest of the half. Pfeiffer had nine different players hit the score sheet, as the depth of the home side pressured the visiting Lady Bobcats. Pfeiffer forced 22 first half turnovers that resulted in 24 Lady Falcon points.
The Lady Bobcats opened the second half with some life, going on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to nine just under a minute and a half in. However, Pfeiffer responded with a 15-3 run to extend their lead to 22 with just under fifteen minutes to play, cruising to the win.
Lauren Brittingham led Pfeiffer with 24 points while Tamara Clay scored 21. Raven Truslow added 13 points and 7 steals for the home side, and Kalee Smith chipped in with 15.
Dianca Jones, (pictured top left), led the Lady Bobcats with a game high 31 points as well as pulling down a game high ten rebounds.
The Lady Bobcats will travel to St. Andrew's Presbyterian
College Saturday to take on the Lady Knights. The game will end a
streak of four consecutive road games for the Lady Bobcats.
