GAFFNEY, S.C. --- The Lees-McRae women's basketball team suffered a 96-46 setback at No. 12 Limestone in a Conference Carolinas tilt Tuesday night at the Timken Center in Gaffney, S.C.
The Saints (6-1, 3-0 CC) remained perfect in league play and shot an effective 59.1% from the floor while Alicia Brookins led both teams with 20 points. The Bobcats (2-5, 1-2) saw sophomore Kelsey Wypych (Sevierville, Tenn.) drop a season-high 10 points.
The Saints used a 26-6 run over the next 10 minutes to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Brookins tallied half of her points in a seven minute span while LC took a comfortable lead into halftime.
Wypych scored five points in a 31 second span while freshman Caitlin Brown (Burns, N.C.) drained her first three in a Bobcat uniform with 4:39 remaining.
Freshman teammate Olivia Unger (Lutz, Fla.) followed suit with her first career points from long range in the waning minutes of the contest.
Junior Tayler Collins (Fayetteville, N.C.) paced LMC with five rebounds.
The Bobcats wrap up a four-game road swing when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to battle Converse Saturday at 2 p.m.
