FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. --- Senior Kabrina Truesdale produced her third 20-point effort on the season, but the Lees-McRae women's basketball team dropped a 69-49 decision at Emmanuel (Ga.) in a Conference Carolinas battle Thursday evening in Franklin Springs, Ga.
The Lions (9-2, 5-2 CC) were powered by a Skye Rogers double-double (11 pts, 11 rebs) and a 20-point outburst from Elise Coberly. The Bobcats (3-10, 2-5) saw Truesdale (Wilmington, N.C.) clip double digits for the ninth time this season while junior Tayler Collins (Fayetteville, N.C.) chimed in with 11 points.
Coberly impressed by shooting 8-of-10 from the field while Timia Reynolds contributed 13 points.
EC grabbed a 22-9 lead thanks to a trio of three's and five points from Coberly.
LMC used a Niroska Perez (Asheville, N.C.) three and a pair of Truesdale free throws to cut the deifict to nine, 27-18, with 2:06 remaining in the opening half.
Truesdale stayed hot by scoring the game's next five points while the Bobcats trailed by four.
Freshman Autumn Bradshaw (Elizabethton, Tenn.) notched her first collegiate point with a made free throw at the 13:03 mark in the second.
The Lions distanced themselves with a 13-2 run and held LMC scoreless for 6:08 before a pair Truesdale jumpers ended the drought.
Senior Kerri Belcher (Roanoke, Va.) swiped a team-high eight rebounds.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. for a game at Southern Wesleyan at 2 p.m. LMC defeated SWU, 68-66, Nov. 19.
