TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- Brea Forbes turned in 25 points and eight rebounds, but the Lees-McRae women's basketball team dropped their season finale, 66-58, in Conference Carolinas action to North Greenville at Hayes Gymnasium in Tigerville, S.C.
The Crusaders (11-18, 9-13 CC) clinched the No. 6 seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Tournament while Cameron Carter led all scorers with 28 points. The Bobcats' (8-21, 7-15) Tayler Collins (Fayetteville, N.C.) concluded her career with nine-point, seven-rebound effort.
Both teams sank 13 free throws and recorded 12 assists.
NGU's Tyler Powers scored five points in the first 1:28 while powering a 7-0 run to open play.
LMC responded with an 11-3 run while freshman Alexis Ammons (Asheville, N.C.) scored four points.
The Crusaders used a trio of points from Paulette Addison to close out the first quarter and lead 13-11.
Forbes (Freeport, Bahamas) drained a three before a bucket from sophomore Mackenzie Blankenship (Johnson City, Tenn.) put LMC up 16-13.
A trio of Bobcats scored in a 48-second spurt before a pair of Olivia Unger (Lutz, Fla.) free throws moments later gave Michele Williams' squad a 24-18 advantage.
The Crusaders ended the first half on a 9-3 run to tie it at 27.
The Bobcats opened the third on a 12-4 run, powered by five consecutive points from Forbes, 39-31.
NGU rallied once more to tie at 41 after a pair of threes.
The Crusaders held LMC without a bucket for 4:36 while scurrying out to a 54-43 lead.
Jumpers from Blankenship and Collins cut the deficit to six, but Powers hit two from the charity stripe to cement the win.
Blankenship finished with 12 points and a steal.
