BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's basketball team will open Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when it travels to Limestone College. Tip-off between the Bobcats and Saints is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae was on the losing side of a 100-51 decision on the road at Catawba College last Saturday. The loss pushed LMC's record to 3-5 on the 2019-20 season.
Conference Opener – The Bobcats will look to begin conference play on a high note against the Saints on Saturday. Recently, Lees-McRae has done just that as it has won two of the last three conference openers.
More from Mason – Lees-McRae was led on Saturday by sophomore Karli Mason, who scored a team-high 14 points. The Bobcats hope this is a sign of things to come for Mason as she is currently ninth all-time in Bobcat women's basketball history shooting 34.6 percent from beyond the arc.
About Limestone – Limestone enters this week's action with an unblemished 4-0 record so far this season. The Saints own victories over UVa-Wise (94-83), Queens (67-63), Newberry (96-95) and Lander (82-69) so far. A player to watch for the Saints is Schekinah Bimpa who paces the team averaging 19.3 points per game.
Series Rewind vs. Limestone – The Saints hold the edge in the all-time series against the Bobcats with a record of 28-23. Lees-McRae did win both meetings between the two programs last year by scores of 81-78 and 85-82 in overtime.
