DUE WEST, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's basketball team fell Thursday night against Erskine College by a final score of, 68-59.
The Bobcats were plagued by cold shooting in the early portions of the first quarter. Karli Mason would eventually find the bottom of the net with a floater in the lane that got Lees-McRae on the board. Erskine had the hot hand from three throughout the first half, allowing them to mount a sizable lead. The Bobcats battled back to cut unto the Erskine advantage but still trailed at the half, 35-21.
After a fairly even third quarter, Lees-McRae was set to make it's push in the last frame. Jala Holloman cut the lead to single digits several times in the fourth. With under two minutes remaining, her three-point field goal cut the Erskine lead to only six points. Unfortunately for the Bobcats this was as close as they came to mounting a comeback.
The Bobcats will return to action Saturday when they face Barton at home. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
