Women’s Basketball heads to Mount Olive on Saturday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to the University of Mount Olive for another Conference Carolinas contest. Tip-off between the Bobcats and Trojans is set for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out – Lees-McRae dropped its last contest to Barton College last Saturday at Williams Gymnasium by a score of 95-76. The loss pushes LMC's overall record to 4-11 and 1-6 within conference play.

Top Turnover Margin – One facet that the Bobcats have fared well in this season has been taking care of the ball and taking it away from their opposition. Overall, LMC leads Conference Carolinas in turnover margin coming in at 3.93. On a national scale, the Bobcats rank 46th among 304 Division II schools in that category.

More minutes for Destiny - Currently, sophomore Destiny Johnson has played a team-high 487 minutes for Lees-McRae this season. Only Limestone's Reagan McCray has played more minutes than Johnson has among Conference Carolinas players.

About Mount Olive – Mount Olive comes into Saturday's meeting with the Bobcats sporting a 10-3 overall record, including a 7-2 mark in league play. UMO has been particularly tough at home as it has won six of its seven home games so far. Balance is a strength for the Trojans as they have four players averaging over 10 points per contest. Leading these efforts is the duo of Jada Bacchus and Azariah Fields who are both averaging 13.7 points per game.

Series Rewind vs. UMO – Mount Olive won all three matchups with the Bobcats last season, including a 74-60 victory in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. LMC's last win over the Trojans came back on January 26, 2018 by a score of 81-63.
