GAFFNEY, S.C. --- The Lees-McRae women's lacrosse was unable to overcome the No. 3 nationally-ranked Limestone Saints in a 22-0 loss in Conference Carolinas play Tuesday afternoon at the Upper Practice Field in Gaffney, S.C.
The Saints (5-0, 3-0 CC) notched 20 goals for the third consecutive game while earning back-to-back shutouts. The Bobcats (1-3, 0-1) was only able to muster one shot, off the stick of Ximena Dupont (Fort Meyers, Fla.).
LC's Katie Ferrell scored the game's first four goals in the first 5:46 before Keirsten MacLellan notched three of the next four while the Saints led 9-0.
Mary-Kate Weaver found the back of the net twice while Sarah Orr collected six of her game-high seven assists in the first half.
The Bobcats saw five players pick up two groundball apiece.
The Saints' Sam McCarrick tallied a pair of goals in the second half while the LMC defense allowed only six goals in the final 30 minutes.
Bobcat sophomore Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) earned six saves while LMC was perfect on clear attempts.
LC's Carleigh Davis dished out six assists while 11 different players scored for the home squad.
LMC will play its home opener Thursday at 4 p.m. at Tate Field when it welcomes Walsh for a nonconference game.
