Terrific Trio! Three Bobcats Notch Five-Goal Performances in 19-10 Win Against Chowan

BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Senior Katelin Rooney made her final home game one for the ages while she dominated with five goals, 10 groundballs and 16 draw controls in a 19-10 victory against Chowan on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Bobcats (5-6) cranked out 43 shots for the second consecutive game while combining for 40 goals in their two-game win streak. The Hawks (3-8) saw a pair of players with four-goal performances while scooping 30 groundballs.

A trio of Bobcats tallied a goal in the first five minutes before CU responded three goals over the next 11 minutes to make it 5-3 LMC.

Sophomore Taylor Drake (Jupiter, Fla.) and Rooney (Naples, Fla.) alternated the next four goals while LMC extended its lead to six, 9-3.

Drake tallied five goals and notched an assist on the day.

The Hawks used a pair of goals from Mackenzie Reid to spark a 4-1 run while LMC clung to a 10-7 lead.

Drake found Ximena Dupont (Fort Meyers, Fla.) in front of the net at the 22:42 mark before Jenah Tracy (Naples, Fla.) recorded a goal with 20:26 remaining.

Tracy notched three of her five goals in a 6:32 span to push the lead to eight, 17-9.

Drake and Callie Gregg (Roanoke, Va.) sealed the victory with goals at the 5:23 and 4:16 mark, respectively.

LMC scooped 40 groundballs in the victory while Mia Emmerson (Orlando, Fla.) racked up four saves.

Senior Nicole Dupont (Fort Meyers, Fla.) scooped three groundballs and earned an assist.

The Bobcats look to push their streak to three with a trip to Due West, S.C. to battle Erskine in a CC tilt Monday at 4 p.m.
