BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team will make its 2017 Tate Field debut Sunday afternoon when it hosts Barton College in a Conference Carolinas contest. The start time for the game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Last Time Out – Lees-McRae dropped a 12-9 decision to Chowan last Saturday on the road. The loss dropped LMC's record to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
Let LeCompte do her thing – Junior Peyton LeCompte has been LMC's top goal scorer this season with 12 goals. LeCompte also paces the Bobcats in points (13), draw controls (14) and shots on goal (17).
Building a Home Field Advantage – LMC will look to continue the process of building up a stellar home field advantage Sunday. In each of the last three seasons, the Bobcats have posted at least a .500 record at home.
Senior Stepping Up – Senior Callie Gregg has been a steady player for the Bobcats in the early stages of the season. Gregg currently is second on the team with seven points (4g, 3a) while leading the squad in ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (10).
About Barton – The Bulldogs are in their inaugural season of women's lacrosse. So far, Barton has a record of 0-6 overall and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas action. BC has started to play better as of late, however, scoring 13 goals over its last three games after scoring three goals previous to that point.
