BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team battled in its Conference Carolinas contest Wednesday against Pfeiffer, but it ultimately fell to the Falcons by a score of 12-8. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Most of the scoring Wednesday by the Bobcats came from the duo of Peyton LeCompte and Sara Henderson. Both players scored three goals in the contest to account for six of the team's eight goals on the afternoon. In addition to her goal scoring, LeCompte also led LMC with four draw controls. Constance Madden and Callie Gregg notched the other two goals for the Bobcats.
Freshman Dayna Decesare made eight saves on the 20 shots she faced Wednesday, while also leading LMC with five groundballs. The loss drops Decesare's record to 2-4.
Lees-McRae will return to action Saturday when it hosts Mount Olive at Tate Field. That game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time.
