BANNER ELK, N.C. – In its first action at home this season, the Lees-McRae College women's lacrosse team fell to Converse by a score of 11-5 Friday afternoon. The loss moves LMC's record to 1-5 on the 2018 campaign and 1-3 in league action.

The Bobcats started well as Constance Madden found Peyton LeCompte for the first goal of the game a little over a minute into the contest. Converse answered, however, scoring four straight goals in the first half before LeCompte closed out the scoring in the stanza with another goal with three minutes to go.

LMC scored a pair of goals in opening few minutes of the second half to tie the score at 4-4. Converse then scored seven of the last eight goals of the game to finish off the 11-5 victory over the Bobcats.

LeCompte scored three goals on the afternoon to pace the Bobcat attack. Madden and Beth Haynes accounted for the other two markers for LMC. Tiffany Laster finished with a team-high two assists to go along with seven draw controls.

Sophomore net minder Dayna Decesare took the loss in goal for Lees-McRae dropping her record to 1-4. Decesare did make 11 saves against the Valkyries in 22 opportunities.

Next up for the Bobcats is a trip to South Carolina to take on North Greenville next Wednesday. That game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
