The Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats hosted Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference rival Mount Olive College Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1. The loss drops the Lady Bobcats to 5-7-1 (2-4-1 CVAC).
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Bobcats broke the tie with a goal from Christine Calvert in the 52nd minute. The visitors would spoil the Lady Bobcats homecoming weekend game with a pair of goals from Emily Escolas and Kate Painter respectively in the 65th and 77th minutes.
"We played outstanding against one of the top teams in the conference for 75 minutes, commented Head Coach Renee Lopez. "It was a great crowd and we were extremely excited with Christine Calvert's goal. However, we need to play our game with 90 minutes of great soccer to get the victory."
The Lady Bobcats will resume CVAC action Monday evening when they host Pfeiffer University at 7:00p.m.
