MISENHEIMER, NC--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats soccer team traveled to Pfeiffer University Saturday afternoon for a Conference Carolinas contest with the Falcons, but left on the losing end of a 5-1 decision. The Bobcats slip to 5-11 overall, (3-6 Conference Carolinas), while the Falcons move to 8-6-2, (7-1-1).
The Falcons got on the board with a Kristen Bartsch tally in the seventh minute, however the lead was short lived as the Lady Bobcats Miranda Franks (Franklin, NC) responded in the 12th minute to knot the score. Megan Blevins would regain the lead for the Falcons on a penalty kick and Angela Reale would extend the lead to two, giving the home side a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
With 28 minutes remaining in the game, Blevins notched her second of the game with Reale drawing an assist. Eight minutes later, the Falcons Michelle Vandreuil added an insurance marker to give the Falcons a 5-1 win on their senior day.
Marissa Middleton (Olathe, KS) and Brittany Bolton (Roanoke, VA) split time in goal for the Lady Bobcats, registering five saves each while Suzie Hinman registered a pair of saves in the Falcons goal.
The Lady Bobcats travel to Williamsburg, KY Thursday evening for a non-conference contest with University of the Cumberlands.
