Lady Bobcats ranked 10th in Southeast Region

KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked 10th in the NSCAA/Hendrickcars.com NCAA Division II Southeast Region for the second week in a row, announced NSCAA officials Tuesday.

Lees-McRae (10-4, 5-2 CC) enters the week having won two of its last three matches, including a pivotal 1-0 win over Queens (N.C.) to begin the final stretch of the regular season in a three-way tie for second in the Conference Carolinas standings.

The Lady Bobcats have utilized a balanced offensive attack for much of the season, as junior Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.), freshman MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.), and junior Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) each enter the week with at least 18 points. Sullivan and Santerre have each tallied seven goals and seven assists thus far to begin the week tied for the league lead with 21 points.

Armstrong Atlantic (10-1-2) tops this week's poll, followed by Columbus State (12-1-1), Belmont Abbey (13-0-1), North Georgia (11-2-0), and North Carolina-Pembroke (11-1-2). Lenoir-Rhyne (11-1-1) is ranked sixth, followed by Georgia College & State (7-4-1), Wingate (7-2-3), Lander (8-5-1), and Lees-McRae.

The Lady Bobcats return to the pitch on Wednesday when they travel to Tigerville, S.C. for a non-conference matchup with North Greenville University. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
