BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Freshman MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team after leading the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team to the semifinal round of the league tournament, announced league officials Saturday.
Sullivan enjoyed an impressive rookie season with the Lady Bobcats, leading the team with 14 goals and 37 points to earn a spot on the all-Conference Carolinas First Team. The freshman midfielder recorded a goal in each of Lees-McRae's two tournament tilts, ending the season with a five-match goal-scoring streak. Sullivan also tallied nine assists this season to rank third in the conference in helpers, while also finishing the campaign second in the league in goals and points.
Lees-McRae ends its season with a 14-6 overall record and an 8-2 mark in league play, while also positing the program's first top-four finish in the conference standings since 2003. The Lady Bobcats are expected to return 18 letter-winners from this season's squad, including all-conference first team selections Sullivan, Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.), and Mary Dorn (Shallot, N.C.).
