INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked 12th in the nation in scoring offense, and is listed in 10 individual and team categories in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (14-6, 8-2 CC) posted one of the program's best seasons in school history, advancing to the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament and recording the program's highest win total since the 2002 season. The Lady Bobcats are ranked 12th in the nation in scoring offense (2.8), 39th in winning percentage (0.700), and 71st in goals against average (1.10).
Freshman Kaitlyn Kerrigan (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) continues to be ranked among the nation's assists leaders, entering the week listed 12th in total assists (11) and 15th in helpers per match (0.58). Junior forward Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) enters the week ranked 48th in total points (30), 57th in markers per match (1.5), and 68th in assists per contest (0.4).
Rookie MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) finished the season strong, recording at least one goal in each of her last five matches to jump to 23rd in total points (37) and 28th in total goals. The all-Conference Carolinas First Team selection is also ranked 28th in total assists (nine), 36th in points per match (1.85), 42nd in assists per contest (0.45), and 44th in goals per tilt (0.7).
Freshman Katelyn Custer (Mooresville, N.C.) is also ranked, entering the week ranked 77th in assists per match (0.39), while senior goalkeeper Brittany Bolton (Roanoke, Va.) is listed 84th in goals against average (1.14).
Lees-McRae ends its season with a 14-6 overall record and an 8-2 mark in league play, while also positing the program's first top-four finish in the conference standings since 2003. The Lady Bobcats are expected to return 18 letter-winners from this season's squad, including all-conference first team selections Sullivan, Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.), and Mary Dorn (Shallot, N.C.).
