HIGH POINT, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae athletic department is pleased to announce that 125 Lees-McRae student-athletes have been named to the Conference Carolinas Fall 2014 Presidential Honor Roll, the conference announced Friday morning.
Each semester this recognition is given to student-athletes who achieve a grade point average of 3.2 of higher on the 4-point scale. All student-athletes, including underclassmen, transfers, and those who play non-conference sports, are eligible for the recognition as long as they have participated in a sport for the semester in question.
The Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll is awarded twice each school year, recognizing the scholastic achievements of student-athletes for each semester. Fall 2014 sees Limestone College as the leader, with 294 student-athletes represented. King followed closely behind with 247. The total of 2,036 is a significant increase from the 1,623 of last fall and the 1,401 of last spring. Emmanuel (Ga.) and Southern Wesleyan, both in the Division II membership process, make the list for the first time with 209 and 133 honorees, respectively.
