Overholt Swipes NSCAA Scholar Second-Team All-South Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Lees-McRae junior Mallory Overholt has been named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Women’s College Division Scholar All-South Second-Team, the association announced Wednesday.

Overholt (Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada) is only one of two Conference Carolinas representatives on either the first, second or third team. King’s (Tenn.) Rachel Thorpe earned a spot on the third team. 

Overholt sports a 3.32 grade-point-average while majoring in Business. She landed on the Conference Carolinas Soccer Academic All-Conference Team in November.

The junior tallied the match-winning goal in the CC quarterfinals at No. 2 Limestone in the 97th minute on Nov. 4.

LMC seniors Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, Fla.) and Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) received honorable mention.
