BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Senior Cheyenne Warrick tallied a second half goal, but the Lees-McRae women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to Limestone in Conference Carolinas play Wednesday evening at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Saints (7-1, 5-0 CC) took 28 shots, including a match-high seven from Holly Rawcliffe. The Bobcats (2-8, 2-3) saw sophomore Alexis Feely (Raleigh, N.C.) make eight saves, including six in the second half.
Feely paces the conference with 77 saves and leads her closest competitor by 13.
LC's Megan O'Connor clanked the post in the 12th minute, but was unable to finish the attempt.
Feely made a pair of saves in a span of 48 seconds to keep it scoreless.
Freshman Katie Jo Daniel (Griffin, Ga.) put a shot on frame at the 29:03 mark.
Allie Winglosky put the Saints up 14:47 into the second half when she blasted a ball off the crossbar and into the net
LC doubled the advantage when O'Connor scored after an Alex Mathis pass.
Warrick (Pikeville, N.C.) scored a nifty goal at the 72:11 mark when she one-timed a pass from Erin Barcal (Wilmington, N.C.) past Meredith Bailey.
The Bobcats host Mount Olive Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1:30 p.m. as a part of Homecoming at Tate Field.
