HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College women's soccer player Alexis Feely was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Monday morning by the league office. The honor marked the first of Feely's career and the first for the Bobcats this season.
"Very proud of Alexis's recognition for Conference Carolina's player of the week," said LMC Head Coach Kiko Magana. "We've been playing at a higher level these past two weeks and the quality performances Feely has given us has provided us the extra momentum to win some games."
Feely, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., was instrumental in the Bobcats' 1-0 victory over Converse in their lone match of the week. In 90 minutes of action, she made five saves and posted her fourth shutout of the season. The Raleigh, N.C. native ranks first in Conference Carolinas in shutouts (4), second in saves (86), fourth in wins (4) and fifth in save percentage (.804).
Feely and the rest of the Bobcats will return to the pitch Wednesday evening at Tate Field when they take on Lenoir-Rhyne. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
