Women’s Soccer welcomes Lenoir-Rhyne to Tate Field Wednesday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team will look to keep its two-match winning streak alive Wednesday night when it hosts Lenoir-Rhyne at Tate Field. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m.

Scouting the Bobcats – Lees-McRae is coming off a pair of 1-0 victories in its last two matches. The two victories predicated largely on the play of Lena Lagille and Alexis Feely. Lagille scored both of the goals in the pair of wins, while Feely stopped all nine shots she faced in the two contests. Because of her work this past weekend against Converse, Feely was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on Monday.

Scouting the Bears – The Bears have posted eight straight winning seasons and they are in good position to make it a ninth this season as they hold a record of 7-3-2. Individually the Bears are led by the duo of Kendall Smith and Andrea Leano. Smith has 13 points (five goals, three assists), while Leano has started all 12 games for Lenoir-Rhyne and holds a goals against average of just 0.97.

Series History – Lenoir-Rhyne has held the edge in the all-time series between these two programs, 8-4. The Bobcats are looking for their first win in the series since 2001.
