BELMONT, N.C. - After playing six straight matches at home, the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time in nearly a month as it travels to Belmont, N.C. to take on Belmont Abbey. First kick is set for 1 p.m.
Scouting the Bobcats – The last time the Bobcats were on the pitch was Wednesday evening against Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears came out victorious by a 1-0 final score. Alexis Feely saved nine of the 10 shots she faced in the loss to lead LMC.
Scouting the Crusaders – Belmont Abbey is currently second in the Conference Carolinas standings with a record of 6-1-0 in conference and 9-2-1 overall. The Crusaders have won seven straight games with their last loss coming at Limestone on Sept. 17, 2-0.
Individually, Cierra Skyers is Belmont Abbey's leading goal scorer with six. Those six goals put Skyers in fourth place in the Conference Carolinas. Kaitlyn Paul has been the Crusaders' main goalkeeper as she has started all 12 games and has a goals against average of 0.69.
Series History – The Bobcats and Crusaders have matched up a total of 28 times in the all-time series. Belmont Abbey has held the advantage in the series posting a 19-7-2 record against LMC. LMC's last win in the series came in 2012 by a 2-1 score.
