LMC Women's Soccer Selected Eighth in Conference Carolinas Coaches' Preseason Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae women’s soccer team was selected eighth in the Conference Carolinas coaches’ preseason poll, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Coach Kiko Magaña’s squad looks to improve on a 5-11-1, 3-7-1 CC campaign while boasting a quartet of seniors and eight juniors.

Senior Cheyenne Warrick (Pikeville, N.C.) provides a plethora of experience for the Bobcats after earning all-conference honors for the second time in her career.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Feely (Raleigh, N.C.) looks to build off an impressive freshman year after earning five clean sheets. Four of LMC’s five wins came via shutout.

The Bobcats welcome six freshmen and junior Megan Shapiro (New Windsor, N.Y.).

Belmont Abbey and Limestone were both voted the preseason favorites to win the conference championship after receiving 95 points each. Limestone edged out BAC in first-place votes, 6-5.

King (Tenn.), Converse and Mount Olive round out the top-five, respectively.

Pfeiffer earned 55 points while North Greenville garnered 42.

Following LMC, Barton, Erskine and Southern Wesleyan went ninth through 11th, respectively.

The Bobcats host a pair of exhibitions; Aug. 25 vs. Ferrum and Aug. 27 vs. Emory & Henry before opening regular season play with seven consecutive road matches.
