BANNER ELK, N.C. – After playing No. 12 Carson-Newman to a scoreless first half, the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team allowed the Eagles to net four goals in the final 45 minutes to notch a 4-0 victory over the Bobcats Wednesday evening at Tate Field. The loss moves Lees-McRae's record on the season to 0-2-0.
Overall, the Eagles outshot the Bobcats 31-3 in the contest with a 17-3 advantage in shots that landed on goal. Lauren Wade netted a pair of goals to lead the Eagles' attack, while Magda Mosengo and Lara Hallgrimsdottir added goals of their own to wrap up the scoring Wednesday.
Despite allowing the four goals, junior goalkeeper Alexis Feely made 13 saves in 90 minutes of action. The 13 saves by Feely is the most for her since she also tallied 13 stops on Oct. 15, 2016 at Belmont Abbey.
Lees-McRae will look to pick up its first victory of the season as it opens conference play against Barton Saturday afternoon at Tate Field. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Bobcats is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
