MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Senior Allyna Ankney netted her first goal of the season Saturday, but the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell to Mount Olive Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-1 in Conference Carolinas action. The loss moves LMC's record to 1-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference matches.

Mount Olive jumped on the Bobcats early and often to begin Saturday's contest. UMO outshot the Bobcats 17-1 in the opening 45 minutes of play. Two of those attempts by the Trojans found the back of the net to put the Bobcats behind by two heading into the intermission.

After the halftime break, the Bobcats played much better. The shot differential shrunk to 8-7 with Mount Olive still holding the edge. Ankney accounted for LMC's lone goal Saturday after knocking it in after a save by UMO's keeper with 3:21 to go in regulation.

Alexis Feely took the loss in goal for the Bobcats despite making 10 saves in 12 shots faced. Feely has now made at least 10 saves in four of the team's five matches this season. Feely's loss dips her record to 1-3-1 on the season.

Lees-McRae will return to action Wednesday when it hosts Lincoln Memorial in a non-conference matchup at Tate Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
