BANNER ELK, N.C.  – After playing almost of 103 minutes of scoreless soccer Tuesday evening, Lees-McRae College women's soccer player Kiara Montenegro scored the game-winning goal to give her team the 1-0 victory in double overtime over North Greenville. The win improves LMC's record to 4-10-2 overall and 4-4-2 in league contests.

Montenegro not only scored the winning goal Tuesday, but she was also constantly threatening to score as well. The freshman forward totaled nine shots in the contest, which is a new career-high. The goal by Montenegro is her fifth of the season bringing her into a tie for the team-lead with Riley Neese. Three of Montenegro's five goals this season have been game-winners.

Despite only putting one goal on the scoreboard, the Bobcats put together their most consistent offensive performance of the season. LMC totaled 19 shots and mustered five corner kicks. Both marks are new season-highs for the team.

The Bobcats will look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season Saturday when they travel to Emmanuel (GA) for its regular season finale. LMC and Emmanuel are scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m.
