FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Senior Kelsey Twigg netted her first goal of the season, but the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell to Emmanuel (GA) College Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-1. The loss wraps up LMC's regular season record at 4-11-2 overall and 4-5-2 in league contests.
Emmanuel got the scoring started just nine minutes into the contest when Kayla Brown found Stephanie Lamm who found the back of the net to give their team a quick 1-0 advantage. Twigg's goal, which was unassisted, came in 22nd minute. The eventual game-winner came in 76th minute. Lindsay Lee was fouled resulting in a free kick and Lee got one past the Bobcat keeper to wrap up the scoring Saturday.
The Bobcats ended up outshooting the Lions in the contest, 11-6. Riley Neese led all Bobcats with three shots on goal. Twigg finished with a pair of shots, while freshmen Cassie McFayden and Katie Lysaght chipped in shots on goals as well in the matchup.
