Feely Named Hero Sports HERO of the Week

BELLEVUE, WASH. – Lees-McRae College senior goalkeeper Alexis Feely has been named the Hero Sports HERO of the Week, the organization announced today (Friday, Sept. 7). To view the full poll, click here.

The award comes after Feely's performance back on Aug. 30 in the season opener against Lenoir-Rhyne. While LMC fell 1-0, Feely made an astounding 15 saves to keep her team in the contest. Including the performance from that night, the Raleigh, N.C. native has notched at least 10 saves in three straight games. The award is Feely's first of the season.

She currently leads the nation in saves with 38, while her .792 save percentage is eighth in Conference Carolinas. She also ranks third in the country in saves per game with an average of 12.67.

The Bobcats open conference play this Saturday (Sept. 8) when they go on the road to face Southern Wesleyan at 3 p.m.
