BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell in Conference Carolinas action Wednesday night (Sept. 26) to Limestone at Tate Field by a score of 3-0.
Game Summary - Limestone struck exactly seven minutes in for the first goal, when Alex Mathis netted her fifth of the season from Holly Rawcliffe. Limestone would put five other shots on goal in the first half, all stopped by Alexis Feely. The Saints would take their 1-0 lead to the break. The Saints would double their lead in the 51st minute, when Khyra Reese and Millie Shaw worked off a throw-in to set up Danielle Murray for her fourth of the season. Limestone capped off the match with a third goal in the 66th minute, coming from Shaw. Selina Boveleth fired a shot that hit the crossbar, deflecting right to Shaw who was able to score her second of the season. The Saints would keep the ball out of their end for the remainder of the match to seal the win.
Stats Rundown - LMC registered two shots in the contest, coming from Lindsey Bowden and Alexa Todd. Feely had her third straight double-digit save effort and her sixth overall of the season, stopping 16 shots.
Up Next - The Bobcats are back at home on Saturday (Sept. 29) when they host Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas action. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
