BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team won its second straight Conference Carolinas match on Monday (Oct. 8), defeating visiting Chowan 1-0.

Game Summary - The two teams traded rushes and chances for most of the second half, before the Bobcats would break through in the 41st minute. Moving the ball down the far side, Maddie Olson fed the ball through several Chowan defenders ahead to a streaking Alexa Todd. Todd was one-on-one with the keeper and netted her second of the season and the game winner on the top shelf. The Bobcats would take their lead to the half, and their stingy defense in the second half would preserve their first shutout of the season.

Stats Rundown - The Bobcats were out-shot 12-4, including 7-2 in shots on goal. Todd recorded two shots in the contest including the game-winner, while Pali Smith and Olson also registered shots. Alexis Feely (2-8-0) recorded her first shutout of the season, making seven saves.

Up Next - The Bobcats hit the road on Saturday (Oct. 13) when they travel to Belmont Abbey for a Conference Carolinas contest. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
