Bobcats Fall at Belmont Abbey on Saturday

BELMONT, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team dropped its Conference Carolinas contest at Belmont Abbey 3-0 on Saturday (Oct. 13).

Game Summary - The teams would play the majority of the first half with no scoring, but Belmont Abbey would break the ice with the first goal in the 33rd minute. From the near wing, Kathryn Laughlin would cross into the box to Cassidy Calhoun, who would fire it through a crowd to the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. The Crusaders would take their 1-0 lead to the half. Belmont Abbey scored again in the 74th minute as McKenzie Lewis found the back of the net to make it 2-0. The Crusaders would ice the match in the 86th minute when Morgan Farrar scored from Laughlin to make it 3-0.

Stats Rundown - The Bobcats totaled two shots in the loss, with one each coming from Lauren Paulsen and Cassie McFayden. Alexis Feely (1-9-0) made eight saves in the loss.

Up Next - The Bobcats are back in action next Saturday (Oct. 20) when they travel to Wilson, N.C. to take on Barton College. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
