Women’s Soccer unveils its 2019 schedule Thursday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer program released its 2019 schedule Thursday afternoon. Lees-McRae will play three exhibition games along 15 regular season tilts with seven of those set to be played at Tate Field.

The Bobcats will open their 2019 campaign with three exhibition contests with two of those on the road. First, Lees-McRae will head down the mountain to Elizabethton, Tennessee to take on Milligan College on August 21 before going to Emory & Henry on August 24. Rounding out the team's exhibition schedule will be a matchup against Mars Hill at Tate Field on August 28.

The regular season for Lees-McRae will commence on September 5 when the team heads to Hickory, N.C. to take on Lenoir-Rhyne. Two days later on the seventh, the Bobcats will head to Francis Marion University for another non-conference tilt.

After beginning the season with a pair of road matches, the Bobcats will close out September by playing three of four contests on their home pitch. Leading things off will be Lees-McRae's conference and home opener on September 14 against Southern Wesleyan. The Bobcats will host Tusculum (Sept. 18) and Erskine (Sept. 21) before closing out the month with a trip to Mount Olive on September 28.

With the calendar turning to October, Lees-McRae will start the month off by hosting North Greenville (Oct. 2) and Emmanuel (Oct. 5). The contest against Emmanuel will be a part of the Homecoming festivities. After that tilt, the Bobcats will embark on a challenging three-match road swing to Lincoln Memorial (Oct. 9), Chowan (Oct. 12) and Limestone (Oct. 16) before finally returning home on October 19 to host Belmont Abbey.

Following that matchup with the Crusaders, the Bobcats will travel to Converse (Oct. 26) and King (Oct. 30) to close out their road schedule for the season. Lees-McRae will wrap up the regular season on November 2 when it hosts Barton at Tate Field. Prior to the game against Barton, the team will honor its senior class for 2019.

The 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament will begin with quarterfinal matches on November 9 on the campus sites of the top four finishers from the regular season. The four winners of the opening round will advance to the semifinals (Nov. 14) and possibly the championship final (Nov. 16). The semifinals and final will be played at the highest remaining seed after the conclusion of the quarterfinals.
