Lees-McRae drops a 3-0 decision to Tusculum

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell to Tusculum University by a score of 3-0 Wednesday evening at Tate Field. The loss pushes Lees-McRae's record on the season to 0-4-0 on the season.

Tusculum had the bulk of the offensive chances in the contest and cashed in on three of those opportunities. The Pioneers netted their first goal in the 25th minute and followed those up with markers in the 54th and 75th minutes.

Overall, the Bobcats totaled six shots in the contest. Katie Jo Daniel led the way with two shots, while Pali Smith, Tegan Dean, Lianna Smith and Cassie McFayden also tallied shot attempts as well.

Freshman Makayla Willets made her first collegiate start in goal for the Bobcats. Willets made 10 saves in her first start on 13 shots faced.

The Bobcats will return to the pitch on Saturday when they host Erskine College in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. from Tate Field.
