Erin Barcal returned to her alma mater in January 2018 as the program's new assistant coach.
Barcal played for the Bobcats 2013-2016 and spent three seasons as one of the team's captains. Barcal appeared in 66 matches, scoring five goals and seven assists for a total of 17 points during her career as a Bobcat. In addition to her work on the pitch, Barcal also succeeded academically as she landed a spot on the Dean's List in seven semesters, and received Academic All-Conference honors in three semesters. Barcal graduated from Lees-McRae in December 2016 with a bachelor's degree in sports administration with a concentration in business administration.
As a coach, Barcal has had a wide variety of experiences in her young career. Barcal spent one season as North Alabama's graduate assistant/goalkeeper coach in 2017. The LMC alum helped the Lions go 13-4-2 on their way to hosting a regional in the NCAA Tournament. Barcal has also coached at Watauga High School, with the High Country Soccer Club and at a varity of camps as well as some strength and conditioning experience with the Lees-McRae softball team.
Barcal also has an USSF "E" Coaching License along with a Goalkeeper License, and is working towards obtaining her USSF "D" Coaching License.
