Swimming splits with Milligan on Saturday

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams picked up a split at Milligan College on Saturday morning. The women's team dropped a 132-114 decision to the Buffaloes, while the men's team came out on top in its matchup, 141-116.

Lees-McRae had several winners on the day across multiple events. On the men's side, the Bobcats won every event that they competed in. Arsham Mirzaei and Christian Nishimura won three events each, while John David McCray won two and the duo of Javier Sanchez and Bailey Lupo won an event each. The women's team, meanwhile, had seven event victories on the day. Sophia Vanderpool and Molly Layde won three events each, and Kayla Fleming accounted for the seventh and final win for LMC on the day.

"Overall I'm happy with the swims from everyone," said LMC Head Coach Sean Weddell. "We still have some work to do leading into the Fall Frenzy in a few weeks. WE have a weekend off from both recruiting and meets coming up and I feel it gives us a good opportunity to get some good training in and correct a few things at the same time."

The Bobcats will be back in action on November 16 when they take on Carson-Newman. Start time for that meet is set for noon.
