Women's Tennis blanked by Lee on Saturday

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team fell in non-conference action at Lee University on Saturday (Feb. 16) by a score of 7-0.

The Lady Flames swept doubles play for one point before sweeping singles play.

Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin were defeated 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, before Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade were blanked 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Rebecca Pierce and Jaden Acklin were also shut out at No. 3 doubles 6-0.

Allen fell at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0, before Shamsuddun lost at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-3. Cakirer lost her No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-1 before Langmade fell at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1. Pierce was defeated at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0, before Acklin fell at No. 6 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

The Bobcats (2-3) are back in action on Thursday (Feb. 21) at Catawba. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
