Women’s Tennis Blanks Averett Monday in Non-Conference Action

DANVILLE, Va. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team shut out Averett University 6-0 on Monday (Mar. 4) in non-conference action.

The Bobcats swept all three doubles matches before taking each of the three singles matches played.

Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin picked up an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, before Mackenzie Langmade and Zeynep Cakirer won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. Jaden Acklin and Dakota Tittle completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles. Allen won her No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1, before Acklin was victorious at No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-0. Tittle closed things out with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

The Bobcats (4-4) open Conference Carolinas play on Thursday (Mar. 7) when they host Converse at 2 p.m.
