Women's Tennis falls to St. Joseph's Wednesday night

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team fell to Division I St. Joseph's on Wednesday (Mar. 14) in Spring Break tournament play by a score of 4-1.

The Hawks swept doubles play to earn one point, before winning three out of four completed singles matches. Nursharneem Shamsuddin picked up the lone win in the contest for Lees-McRae, winning 7-5, 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Rebecca Pierce and Jaden Acklin both had 6-4 leads in their singles matches (No. 5 and No. 6), before the matches were declared unfinished. 

The Bobcats (7-6) have an off day tomorrow (Thursday, Mar. 14) before taking on Wheaton College (Ill.) on Friday (Mar. 15) at 8 a.m. and Rockhurst at 7 p.m.
