BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lee-McRae College women's tennis team hosts three Conference Carolinas matches this week, beginning with Converse on Monday (Mar. 25) at 12 p.m. The Bobcats then host Belmont Abbey on Friday (Mar. 29) at 1 p.m., and Mount Olive on Saturday (Mar. 30) at 11 a.m. Pending weather, video for the matches on Friday and Saturday will be available at www.lmcbobcats.com.
About the Bobcats - Lees-McRae enters the week at 8-8 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas, with a combined 24-23 doubles record as well as 36 combined singles wins. Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin lead the team in doubles wins with nine, while Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade also have six wins in doubles play. Jaden Acklin and Rebecca Pierce have four wins in doubles play, while Acklin and Dakota Tittle also have three doubles wins. Two other doubles pairs each have one win on the season. Allen leads the Bobcats in singles play with 10 wins, while Shamsuddin is second on the team in wins with nine. Acklin has eight wins in singles play, while Cakirer and Langmade each have seven wins in singles play. Pierce also has four wins in singles play, while Tittle also has three singles wins.
About the Opponents - Converse enters the week at 7-6 overall and 1-3 in Conference Carolinas play.
Belmont Abbey enters the week at 5-10 overall and 2-2 in Conference Carolinas play, with a combined 19 doubles wins and 27 singles wins. Teagan McNamara and Talia Semaan lead the Crusaders with six doubles wins, while Darian DeFrench and McNamara also have three doubles wins. Three other doubles pairings each have three wins, while another three doubles tandems each have one doubles win. Erica Dorn and Morgan Nguyen each have five singles wins, while three others have four singles wins each. Semaan has two singles wins on the year, while Blair Boatright also has one singles win.
