Women's Tennis has winning streak snapped at Chowan on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team saw its winning streak snapped at Chowan on Sunday (Apr. 14) with a 4-3 loss in Conference Carolinas action.

The Bobcats were able to sweep doubles play to earn the doubles point, while also winning two singles matches. Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin picked up a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Rebecca Pierce and Jaden Acklin won by default at No. 3 doubles to complete the sweep. Pierce would win 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, while Acklin would earn a win at No. 6 singles by default.

The Bobcats (12-11, 4-5 Conference Carolinas) are back in action tomorrow (Monday, Apr. 15) at Barton for an 11 a.m. first serve.
