  • Three Women’s Tennis players land spots on the Academic All-Conference team

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College women’s tennis players Jaden Acklin, Rebecca Pierce and Dakota Tittle were named to the Academic All-Conference team Wednesday by the league office. For all three athletes, it is the first academic all-conference honor of their respective careers.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team fell to Emmanuel College by a score of 9-0 Friday afternoon in Banner Elk. LMC’s record moves to 6-8 overall and 2-8 in conference with the loss, while the Lions improve to 13-6 overall and 9-1 mark in league contests.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College tennis teams will wrap up their regular seasons this weekend with home matches against Emmanuel and Erskine. LMC will host the Lions Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. before taking on the Flying Fleet in a pair of late-morning matches on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team pitched a 9-0 shutout of UVa-Wise Wednesday night in Bristol in non-conference action. LMC improves to 5-3 on the season, which is the most wins for the program in a single-season since 2015.

  • Lees-McRae Tennis teams prep for three conference matches on the road this week

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College tennis teams will return to action this week with three conference matches away from Banner Elk. Both the men’s and women’s teams will take on King Tuesday at the Bristol Indoor Tennis Courts at 7:30 p.m. Following their matchups against the Tornado, the Bobcats will travel to Mount Olive Friday and Belmont Abbey Saturday to close out their week. The contests at UMO are slated to begin at 2 p.m., while the matches at BAC don’t have a defined start time as of yet.

Allen joins teammate Emily Harrison, who won the same award last week, as Bobcats who have earned weekly honors this season.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College women’s tennis player Emily Harrison has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Week by the league office today. The honor is not only the first for the Bobcats this season but also the first weekly award that the program has received since 2009.
  • Women’s Tennis opens its spring season with a 5-4 victory over Mars Hill

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – In the first match under the direction of first year Head Coach Rodger Acklin, the Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team picked up a 5-4 win over Mars Hill Wednesday afternoon in Banner Elk. It marks the second straight year that the Bobcats have won their first match of the spring season.
  • 157 Lees-McRae student-athletes named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll on Thursday morning by the league office. Eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored with the men’s and women’s soccer squads leading the way with 19 and 18 honorees, respectively.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team was selected to finish 11th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll Wednesday afternoon. Mackenzie Langmade, Jaden Acklin and Sandy Allen were named players to watch for the squad this coming season.
  • Lieutenant Colonel Rodger Acklin named new Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Lees-McRae

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced Thursday morning the hiring of Lieutenant Colonel Rodger Acklin as the school’s new Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. Acklin, who is a former Bobcat tennis player himself, is a 1997 graduate of Lees-McRae.
