  • Four LMC Tennis players named Academic All-Conference

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Four members from the Lees-McRae College tennis programs were named Academic All-Conference by the league office Monday afternoon. From the women’s team, Amanda Chapman was named to the team, while Thomas Deeley, Garrett Lakey and Sebastian Zuhr from the men’s team were also honored.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team nearly finished off its 2016-17 season with a victory over Conference Carolinas rival Pfeiffer Monday afternoon but the Falcons edged the Bobcats, 5-4. The loss closes out Lees-McRae’s record at 4-13 overall and 1-10 in league play.

    CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track & field programs opened competition at the Beynon Catamount Classic Friday afternoon in Cullowhee, N.C. In total, four different Bobcats notched top five finishes to highlight the first day of action in Cullowhee.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Limestone College Sunday afternoon in Banner Elk. The loss moves LMC’s record to 4-11 overall and 1-8 in league matches.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team picked up its first conference win of the season Saturday afternoon as it defeated King (TN) University, 4-3. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 4-10 on the season and 1-7 in conference matches.

    DUE WEST, S.C. – Erskine College handed the Lees-McRae College women’s tennis its ninth straight loss Tuesday afternoon in Due West, S.C. as it defeated the Bobcats by a score of 8-1. The loss moves LMC’s record to 3-10 overall and 0-7 in conference matches.

LMC will begin the week with a non-conference tilt at Catawba Wednesday. Following that matchup, the Bobcats will return home for a pair of matches against Conference Carolinas foes. Lees-McRae will host Southern Wesleyan Friday followed by a matchup against North Greenville Saturday. The first two matches of the week are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., while Saturday’s is set for a 1 p.m. start time.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Caroline Green and Amanda Chapman picked up singles victories but it proved to not be enough Friday as the Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team fell to Converse, 7-2, in Conference Carolinas action. With the defeat, the Bobcats dip back to the .500 mark at 3-3 on the season.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team will open the Conference Carolinas portion of its schedule this weekend with a pair of matches against Converse and Belmont Abbey. LMC will host the Valkyries Friday at 2 p.m. before facing off against the Crusaders Saturday at 11 a.m.
  • Wintry weather forces schedule changes for LMC Athletics Wednesday

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Due to the wintry weather and cold temperatures expected in Banner Elk Wednesday, the Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis teams have all announced schedule changes. The tennis matches Wednesday against Pfeiffer have been postponed along with the lacrosse game against Tusculum. All three contests don’t have make-up dates as of yet.

  • Women’s Tennis picks up a 5-0 win at Brevard, Men’s match postponed

    BREVARD, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s tennis team picked up a rain-shortened 5-0 victory at Brevard College Saturday. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 3-1 on the season. Additionally, the Lees-McRae College men’s tennis team’s match against Brevard was postponed due to the rain that interrupted the women’s match. An update on the status of the men’s match will be made early next week.

  • Inaugural "Meet with Mister" Provides Priceless Knowledge

    BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The first episode of “Meet with Mister” was a success last week as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Keith “Mister” Jennings held his first athletic department town hall meeting in the Bobcat Club Film Room. Each month ‘Mister’ will bring in coaches and student-athletes to talk about various topics and help continue to promote the comradery of Lees-McRae athletics, but also the experience of intercollegiate athletics.
