Clemson, S.C.--The Lees-McRae College women's track & field team competed at the Clemson Solid Orange Invitational in Clemson, SC on Saturday, April 12. Sophomore mid-distance standout, Ashley May (Chilhowie, Va.) came away with a season best performance in the women's 1,500m run with a time of 5:12.03 to finish seventh in the event.
Fellow sophomore Erin Tyler (Branford, Fla.) finished sixth in the women's javelin throw and nearly set a personal best in the process.
Freshman hurdler, Shantra McCoy (Stafford, Va.) broke the 17-second barrier in the women's high hurdles to finish with a time of 16.76 seconds. McCoy also set a personal best in the women's 400m hurdles as well.
Next up for the Lady Bobcats is the annual Tri-Conference Championship/Bobcat Open on April 18-19th. The team will look to continue their dominance over the rest of the Conference Carolinas schools while competing against teams from two other conferences.
