Moorhead sets school record at Mountaineer Open

BOONE, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team turned in a pair of top-10 performances on the second day of the Mountaineer Indoor Open, hosted by Appalachian State University, including a school-record performance by Taryn Moorhead (Deer Park, Wash.) in the pole vault.

Moorhead placed seventh in the pole vault competition with a program-record mark of 3.07 meters. Fellow freshman Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) continued her strong rookie season with a seventh-place finish in the high jump, posting a mark of 1.53 meters.

Lees-McRae returns to action next Friday and Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in the Liberty Open, hosted by Liberty University.
