Bobcats ranked third in Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS --- The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team is ranked third in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor Southeast Region poll, falling one spot this week, announced UTSFCCCA officials Tuesday.

Lees-McRae has enjoyed a successful season this winter, recording seven top-10 individual performances thus far while setting four new school records. Freshmen Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) and Taryn Moorhead (Deer Park, Wash.) have each set program records in the high jump and pole vault, respectively, while junior Crystal Bass (Branford, Fla.) has posted two school marks in the weight throw and the shot put.

The Bobcats return to action on Feb. 18 when they travel to Boone, N.C. to participate in the ASU Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State University.
