Bobcats ranked fourth in Southeast Region poll

NEW ORLEANS --- The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team is ranked fourth in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Region poll, announced USTFCCCA officials Tuesday.

The Bobcats posted a solid showing at their last indoor event of the season this past weekend at Appalachian State, tallying five top 10 finishes, including an eight-place performance by Jamara Cook (Claremont, N.C.) in the shot put with a personal best of 10.45 meters. Freshman Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) has placed no lower than 13th in the high jump throughout the season, notching a trio of top 10 finishes, including a fourth-place showing at the ASU Invitational this past weekend with a jump of 1.57 meters.

Lees-McRae returns to action on Mar. 5 when the Bobcats travel to Hickory, N.C. to take part in the Power Sox Invitational, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University.
