WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) set a new school record in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Lees-McRae College women's track and field team to a strong performance on Saturday on the second day of the Wake Forest Open.
Thornton crossed the line in 1:03.79 in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 10th while breaking her own school record. Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.61 meters, while Persephanie Mcrae (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished 14th with a jump of 1.48 meters. Kayla Frazier (Chesterfield, S.C.) also finished seventh in the shot put with a toss of 9.24 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Saturday, March 24 when the Bobcats travel to High Point, N.C. to take part in High Point University's Performance Track Meet.
