CULLOWHEE, N.C. --- Alexandria Flint and Erin Bingham set school records while the Lees-McRae track & field teams participated at the Benyon Sports Catamount Classic over the weekend in Cullowhee, N.C.
Flint (Blue Bell, Pa.) put herself atop the LMC ranks in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.59.
Bingham (West Jefferson, N.C.) continued her impressive Bobcat career by setting the record in 100-meter hurdles and finishing third with a time of 14.47 seconds.
Junior Joshua Godwin (Pleasant Grove, N.C.) grabbed four top-15 finishes in field events. He swiped fifth in the javelin throw with a heave of 45.86 meters. The junior went for eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 36.62.
Godwin finished 13th in both the shot put and discus. He recorded a distance of 11.55 in the shot put and 33.02 in the discus throw.
Junior Benjamin Wilson (Salisbury, N.C.) earned a sixth-place mark in the javelin with a distance of 43.65.
Sophomore Tyree Reed (Phenix City, Ala.) impressed by finishing third in the 100-meter dash in a sparkling time of 10.88 seconds. Reed finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 21.83.
LMC’s Razhede Highsmith (Gastonia, N.C.) finished 15th in the 100-meter in 11.46.
Junior Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.) completed the 800-meter run in 1:56.45 while claiming 11th.
Freshman Austin Thompson (Cleveland, Ga.) turned out a time of 15:59.75 in the 5000-meter run and finished ninth.
Sophomore Najah Underwood (Hendersonville, N.C.) grabbed 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.87 meters. She earned 15th in the long jump with a leap of 4.66 meters.
Junior Mekayla Boswell (Mocksville, N.C.) was ninth in the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters.
Teammate Makayla Estep (Moravian Falls, N.C.) finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.87.
Rishad Felton (Hendersonville, N.C.) leapt to a 15th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.27 meters.
In the men’s pole vault, Christian Lloyd (Irmo, S.C.) and Joshua Cady (Aiken, S.C.) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, with heights of 4.40 and 4.10 meters.
Junior Kayla Powell (Moyock, N.C.) placed ninth in the discus throw with a mark of 33.67 meters and was 11th in the shot put with a distance of 10.65.
Senior Kendall Isler (Winder, Ga.) cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump to finish eighth.
The duo of Jordan Brigman (Asheville, N.C.) and Chloe Maddox (Helen, Ga.) claimed 11th and 12th, respectively, in women’s pole vault; both cleared 2.30 meters.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Gearing (Sautee, Ga.) enjoyed a fourth-place mark in the javelin with a distance of 33.06. Teammate Jessica Hattabaugh (Hamilton, Mass.) claimed 11th with a mark of 26.17.
LMC returns to action April 29-30 when it participates in the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Banner Elk, N.C.
