BOONE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College track & field programs notched a pair of top 10 performances on day one of the Appalachian State Invitational.
Kendall Isler posted the best finish of the day for the Bobcats with a fourth place finish in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.83m. That jump was just .04m shy of a career best for Isler.
Jennifer Johnson made the second top 10 finish for Lees-McRae with a seventh place nod in the triple jump as well. Johnson's jump was 11.01m, which marks a new career-best for the Yadkinville, N.C. native.
Rounding out the results for the Bobcats was a 15th place finish by Joshua Goodwin in the weight throw and a 25th place finish by Kayla Powell which was also in the weight throw.
The Bobcats will return to action at the Appalachian State Invitational Saturday morning. The field events are scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m. and the running events will begin at 11 a.m.
